The construction and supply works for the Bandirma-Bursa-Yenisehir-Osmaneli High Standard Railway Line and Electromechanical Systems are ongoing under the responsibility of the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments (AYGM), affiliated with the Republic of Turkiye Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
Following the project tender, a route revision was envisaged for the Bursa-Bandirma Section. After the Environmental Impact Assessment study compliant with local legislation, an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment aligned with IFC standards and the Equator Principles was carried out. The environmental and social risks and impacts related to the project were identified comprehensively in line with these strict standards.
Within the scope of the ESIA studies, we have reached a highly important stage that we call the Stakeholder Consultation Process. During this process, which started on 22 August 2023, we are trying to reach all stakeholders affected by the works on the Bursa-Bandirma section and invite them to share their views through broad outreach activities. For this purpose, we are using a wide range of communication channels including national and local newspaper notices, invitations sent to relevant institutions in Bursa and Balikesir and village head offices, as well as ESIA brochures and posters distributed in the field.
Through this website, the dedicated project hotline, e-mail address, project office addresses and the ESIA Information Meetings organized in villages, we are collecting the valuable opinions of all individuals and institutions who believe they are affected by the Project. If you live on the Bursa-Bandirma route, we invite you to attend our meetings on 28-29 August 2023 and then contact us using the available communication channels.
Your feedback will make an important contribution to our Project. You may submit your views through our communication channels or the forms available at the village head offices in the affected settlements until the end of business on 22 September 2023. The feedback received will be evaluated and the necessary revisions will be made to finalize the currently draft ESIA report. Comments submitted during the following 30-day period will also be handled carefully and included in a later version of the ESIA Report. You can follow developments on the project website.
