Where does the railway line start and end? How long is it?

The 201 km long project will pass through Bandirma, Bursa, Yenisehir and Osmaneli and connect to the Ankara-Eskisehir-Istanbul High Speed Train Line in the Osmaneli area.

Section 1: Yenisehir-Osmaneli, 50+000 km
Section 2: Bursa-Yenisehir, 56+000 km
Section 3: Bandirma-Bursa, 95+000 km

How many stations will be built within the scope of the project and where will they be located?

There will be 7 stations on the Osmaneli-Bandirma route. The high standard railway line will connect to the Ankara-Eskisehir-Istanbul High Speed Train Line through the Bandirma, Kuscenneti, Karacabey, Teknosab, Bursa, Gursu, Yenisehir Airport and Yenisehir stations.

What will the travel time be?

When the project is completed, Bursa will be connected to Bilecik, Ankara and Istanbul. As a result, travel time between Bursa and Ankara will decrease to 2 hours and 10 minutes. The Bursa-Osmaneli section is expected to carry 30 million passengers and 59 million tons of freight annually.

When did the project start?

TCDD started construction activities in the Bursa-Yenisehir Section (Section 2) in 2016. Tunnel works began in 2016 by Celikler Construction and infrastructure works started in 2017 by Duygu Construction.

How long will the construction phase take?

For Sections 1 and 3, the construction period of the BBYO Railway Project was planned as three years starting from 1 November 2021, namely between 1 November 2021 and 1 November 2024. For Section 2, tunnel and infrastructure works by Duygu-Celikler were planned to be completed between December 2021 and December 2022.

Who will operate the project?

The project owner is the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments (AYGM). Once construction is completed, the project together with all assets defined in the construction contract will be handed over by AYGM to the Turkish State Railways (TCDD) and commissioned.

What is the investment amount of the project?

The investment cost of the BBYO High Standard Railway Project is TRY 9.5 billion.

Does the project harm the environment?

An ESIA study aligned with international standards was conducted for the project. All potential environmental and social risks were identified and the necessary measures were defined. You can access the related reports on our website.

What benefits and advantages will the project provide?

Railways will have a greater share in intercity transportation. Fast, safe and economical transport will be provided. The rail network will expand countrywide. Intercity logistics costs will decrease. Employment will be created during both construction and operation phases.

I have land in the area. Will expropriation affect me?

Expropriation within the project scope is carried out by AYGM in accordance with Turkish Expropriation Law and IFC Performance Standard 5. For plot-specific information, landowners should apply in person to the expropriation office established at our Bursa Yenisehir site.
