Sustainability
Social
Construction activities are carried out by considering the social sensitivities set out in the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Report, which is aligned with international standards in addition to local regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement Activities
The Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) contains important information such as project-affected settlements, our stakeholders, communication channels and grievance mechanism, while also explaining how we conduct our communication activities. As changes may occur in future phases of the project, we consider the SEP a living document and aim to continue updating it regularly.
You can review our Stakeholder Engagement Plan for more detailed information.
Land Acquisition
The expropriation process of the Bandirma-Bursa-Yenisehir-Osmaneli High Standard Railway Project is carried out by the Republic of Turkiye Ministry of Transport, General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments. An Expropriation Information Guide has been prepared to ensure that our stakeholders are accurately informed about the process. The document has been officially distributed to all stakeholders affected by the expropriation process.
You can review our Expropriation Information Guide for more detailed information.
Livelihood Restoration Program
Within the Resettlement Action Plan, independently from the expropriation compensation payment to be made to landowners negatively affected by the project/expropriation and who meet the minimum application requirements, AYGM plans a Livelihood Restoration Program to support settlements along the route. The program is still under development. It will be planned based on interviews with expropriation-affected people, input from village headmen and independent experts.
You can review the Resettlement Action Plan, including livelihood restoration, and the application form for more detailed information.
Cultural Heritage
The Bandirma-Bursa-Yenisehir-Osmaneli High Standard Railway Project recognizes that cultural assets, which are part of the common past of humanity and an inseparable component of our socio-cultural identity, must be protected and transferred to future generations. Cultural Heritage areas that may fall within the project impact area were carefully addressed during the ESIA period, and the studies were carried out in accordance with local legislation and IFC Performance Standard 8. In addition to these anticipated impacts, if unknown Cultural Heritage sites are encountered during construction works, the Project is obliged to take the strictest measures in line with the applicable laws and regulations. To support this obligation, the Project will employ Cultural Heritage specialists and work in cooperation with local authorities and institutions.
Detailed information on the studies will be shared through the annual Environmental and Social Performance Report.
